Huizhou First People Hospital–Alfred Health Trauma Systems Development Project

Key Objectives & Outcomes

  • Increased the capacity of emergency and trauma doctors and nurses in HFH to deliver live-saving care through a coordinated and interdisciplinary approach to trauma reception
  • HFH is leading an 18-hospital Trauma Network in Huizhou
  • Developed the HFH Trauma Centre
  • Developed the HFH Trauma Registry (adapted from the WHO Minimum Dataset for Trauma Registry)
  • Trained 200 medical and nursing staff in HFH in trauma reception, resuscitation and management
  • 50 medical and nursing HFH staff participated in 2 – 12 weeks trauma observership program or ICU observerships program at the Alfred Hospital
