About Marc Schnekenburger

Dr Marc Schnekenburger is an Emergency Physician at the Alfred Hospital, clinical Research Fellow at the NTRI, and Adjunct Senior Lecturer at Monash University. He also works as Retrieval Consultant for Adult Retrieval Victoria.

He worked for several years as consultant in the trauma service at the Alfred Hospital. He extended his metro life into regional Australia working for the RFDS and was Director of Trauma at Dubbo Base Hospital NSW.

He began his career as a paramedic, developing a passion for pre-hospital challenges that has shaped a career consistently combining emergency and trauma care across Australia. He has contributed to trauma systems development internationally, including in China and the Philippines, and has served as faculty for the Procedures Course, Emergency Trauma Management, and the Trauma Team Training Program.

At The Alfred, he holds the portfolio for major burns and continues to advance his ultrasound skills, with a particular interest in regional analgesia for chest trauma.
