Jaiden Hulyer

Jaiden is a Nurse Practitioner with the Alfred Trauma Service, who has been integral in the creation of the role within the team. Jaiden has many years of nursing experience specialising in the care of injured patients, with a background in Intensive Care Nursing.

Jaiden has been appointed as an Adjunct Lecturer with Monash University and the NTRI, as she has led the creation and continues to manage the Master of Advanced Trauma Nursing Program delivered through Monash University. The program consists of two subjects that prepare nurses to care for injured patients during all aspects of care from pre-hospital to rehabilitation. Injury pathophysiology, resuscitation principles, management of injuries and nursing considerations are delivered in a multi-modal method both for students both domestically and internationally.

Jaiden holds three Masters qualifications including the Master of Nurse Practitioner, Intensive Care Nursing and Critical Care, and is a member of the Australian New Zealand Trauma Society, holding a position in the Education Sub Committee.

Jaiden has an ongoing commitment to the development of others from all multidisciplinary teams, she supports The Procedures Course as an equipment lead and the implementation of The Procedures Course for Nurses educational program to upskill and educate nursing staff from around the country in life and limb saving procedures. Jaiden is also a course coordinator for the Advanced Trauma Life Support course for junior medical staff delivered through the Royal Australian College of Surgeons.

Jaiden’s extensive experience in caring for and managing trauma patients highlights her commitment to achieving optimal patient outcomes for severely injured patients, reducing complications following injury, patient and family support and staff education.
