Ben Gardiner has extensive background in perioperative nursing and management in Victoria, NSW and Queensland, including Ex-Co-Chair of the State-wide Anaesthesia and Perioperative Clinical Care Network (Qld). With over 5 years of recent experience as a ACHS surveyor specialising in infection control. With additional backgrounds in medical administration, nursing education and as Director of Nursing.  He has been active in many state and national committees and organisations, with additional specialised experience sterilisation and infection control, and information technology.

In addition to his expertise in registry development, implementation and management, he has interests in the quality of patient care and trauma research.  Currently undertaking a Higher Degree Research at Griffith University in Trauma definitions, comparatives and application, with interest in geospatial analysis of trauma and population trauma mortality.
