Our Research Framework illustrates the responsibilities of our Research Management, Senior Research Team and researchers at the NTRI. This framework provides an underlying structure and processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness for our team and in achieving our collective goal.

Research Management

  • Set strategic direction
  • Research oversight and decision makers
  • Research integration and engagement
  • Peer review scientific, ethical and practical aspects of proposed project including the study design and methodology (final approval resides with the Director of NTRI)
  • Financial governance including the Identification of funding sources
  • Confirmation that the Institute is appropriately resourced to conduct or support proposed research activities
  • Consideration of the suitability of project aligning with the focus research areas and the strategic direction of the NTRI

Senior Research Team

  • Idea generation, to seek funding opportunities, support junior research staff
  • Key communicators of projects & findings and/or clinical implementation of research findings
  • Seek funding opportunities that are in line with the strategic direction of the NTRI, under the 5 research focus areas or otherwise approved by Research Management

Research Assistants

  • To support researchers and students at the NTRI
