Dr Teresa Howard
Manager, Innovation and Research
Dr Teresa Howard is the Research Manager at the National Trauma Research Institute. She has completed a PhD in Protozoology at The University of Tasmania.
Dr Howard is a scientist and medical researcher with over 20 years’ experience in a broad range of research and development activities in medical and commercial research institutes and companies. She started her career as a scientist working with early HIV diagnostics, later working with the WHO as a temporary advisor running inter-country workshops. Dr Howard has experience in Biotech start-ups and commercialising Australian research. She currently has two patents.
Dr Howard’s role at NTRI is focused on leading and supporting NTRI’s research and development capacity. She is responsible for strategic development of the research agenda, supporting NTRI’s and Alfred’s clinical researchers and collaborators and facilitating national and international partnerships. In addition, she oversees the project management of a number of national and international programs of research encompassing clinical, health services and knowledge translation aspects of trauma and emergency surgery.
