Dr Jiun Kae Pui is a Trauma and Critical Care Development Consultant for the National Trauma Research Institute. He is also an Emergency Physician at The Alfred Emergency and Trauma Centre and Sandringham District Memorial Hospital emergency departments. He has special interests in trauma resuscitation, critical care and downstream management of severely injured patients. He is also a Trauma Consultant with special interests in team training and international medical developments in under-resourced environments. Dr Pui is a Monash University graduate and completed his specialist training with a Trauma Fellowship at The Alfred in 2014. He has been involved in international collaborations with trauma team education and resuscitation training in China, Philippines and Myanmar.
Embracing the core value of safety, quality and professionalism, Dr Pui also has a keen interest in error reduction and forensic medicine. He is a committee member for quality and risk management at Sandringham District Memorial Hospital Emergency Department and has special training as a forensic medical officer at the Victorian Institute of Forensic Medicine. This involves providing expert reviews in medical errors and assessment of injuries for the judicial system.
